Tournament Information
- Head coach must check in before their 1st showcase game and pay team gate fee. Cash only.
- Also at check in, the head coach will draw their team’s seed for bracket out of a hat.
- All games are 80 minutes (finish the inning), or 7 innings. Showcase game can end in a tie. Bracket game must have a winner.
- Teams must be ready to play 15 minutes prior to game time.
- Umpires will allow pitchers three pitches or 1 minute between innings (whichever is less). Teams should hurry on and off the field to ensure pitcher/catcher warm-ups.
- It is imperative that any post-game team meetings not take place until the dugout is cleared and cleaned, and the field is vacated. Likewise, teams should be ready to occupy the dugout and be prepared to start play.
- During warm-ups DO NOT pitch, throw, or hit towards the field of play.
- Home team will be decided by coin toss in all games, regardless of seed in bracket.
- This is a no protest tournament. If you have an on-field rule interpretation problem you should stop the game, and the clock, and get the UIC involved right then for a decision. No UIC will come to the field for judgment calls or once the game is concluded!
- Use of profanities will not be tolerated from fans, coaches or players. Any use of profanities is an automatic coach ejection from the facilities for 1 game, on the 1st offense. 2nd offense from the same team and the team is disqualified from the tournament. Coaches are responsible for the actions of their fans using reasonable judgment.
- Home team will be responsible for keeping the official book and the visiting team will be responsible for keeping the scoreboard. There are DESIGNATED SPOTS to easily watch the game and use the scoreboard. If the visiting team is unable or unwilling to keep the board, the home team is more than welcome. 16 and older only on the scoreboards please.
- If we incur a long delay because of weather, game times can be cut to assure a timely finish of the tournament.
- Balls will be provided.
- Dugouts are not assigned, use common courtesy when picking your dugout.
- No metal cleats.
Tournament Rules
All games will play by the USA National rule book with the following exceptions:
- During showcase games and bracket you may bat as many as you like.
- You must always maintain the integrity of your lineup on offense, pool or bracket.
- All batters beyond 9 need to be listed as an EH, and you may utilize the DP/Flex rule, should you choose.
- If you start a player on the bench and bring her into the game to hit it will constitute as a substitution, and substitution rules will apply to her and the player she entered for.
- If a batter is hit by a pitch, she has the option to take the pitch as a ball and continue the at bat, if the pitch was not ball 4.
- Courtesy Runners during the showcase games can be anyone for anyone, as long as the runner doesn’t miss her turn at bat.
- Courtesy Runners during bracket games can be anyone for pitcher or catcher of record, as long as the runner doesn’t miss her turn at bat. The same runner can not run for both the pitcher and catcher during the same inning.
- If a Courtesy Runner misses an "At Bat", due to being on base, an out will be recorded on the base, and she will assume her "At Bat". You cannot Courtesy Run for a Courtesy Runner to avoid this penalty.
